Pada tanggal 20 April - 17 Mei, Yayasan Hadaya Vatthu akan menyelenggarakan pelatihan meditasi yang dibimbing oleh Sayadaw U Aganna di Kayagatasati-Cibodas, Jawa Barat.
Bagi rekan-rekan yang ingin berlatih meditasi jangka panjang, maka ini merupakan kesempatan yang baik sekali.

Akan diadakan Retreat Meditasi Bersama Sayalay Dipankara, 13-15 Desember 2013 di Makassar, dimana akan diikuti peserta lintas negara dan menjadi retreat dengan jumlah peserta terbesar selama Sayalay Dipankara membimbing retreat di Indonesia.
Panitia dari Makassar telah mempersiapkan retreat seoptimal mungkin sehingga bisa diikuti banyak peserta, dan oleh karena itu, retreat ini menjadi kesempatan bagi anda yang ingin berlatih meditasi bersama Sayalay Dipankara namun sering tidak kebagian tempat.
Peserta harus sudah tiba di lokasi retreat paling lambat tgl 12 Desember pukul 12.00 WITA. Bagi peserta dari luar kota, panitia akan menyediakan kendaraan jemputan dari bandara menuju lokasi retreat.

Rekan-rekan,
Kita akan mengadakan perjalanan ke Myanmar untuk mengikuti acara Mahadana di Pa-Auk Tawya Mawlamyine, sekalian ke tempat Sayalay Dipankara dan jalan-jalan di Myanmar.
Pada kesempatan Mahadana yang bertepatan dengan Magha Puja, akan dihadiri oleh lebih dari 1.000 bhikkhu dan sayalay. Disana kita dapat berdana pula kepada sekitar 30 bhikkhu dan sayalay dari Indonesia yang sedang berlatih untuk sebagai guru-guru meditasi di Indonesia.
Adapun jadwal perjalanannya adalah:
23 Feb: Berangkat Jakarta 09:20 - Yangon 15:45, Singapore Airlines SQ955. Langsung menuju Golden Rock dan menginap di hotel dibawah Golden Rock, makan malam dan istirahat (_/_/D)
24 Feb: Makan pagi dan naik ke Golden Rock. Setelah makan siang berangkat ke Mawlamyine dan menginap di Pa-Auk Centre (B/L/D)
25 Feb: Makan pagi dan mengikuti acara Mahadana. Setelah itu makan siang dan berangkat menuju Naypidaw. Beristirahat di Hotel di Naypidaw. (B/L/D)
26 Feb: Berangkat menuju Maymyo, kunjungi Brahma Vihari Centre dan tempat wisata lainnya. (B/L/D)
27 Feb: Setelah makan siang berangkat ke Bagan. Dalam perjalanan singgah di Mandalay Mhamyatmuni and Shew Chaung. Menginap di Hotel di Bagan (B/L/D)
28 Feb: Berkeliling Bagan dan menginap di Bagan. (B/L/D)
01 Mar: Setelah makan pagi, berangkat menuju Yangon. Setelah tiba di Yangon, berkeliling dan tiba di Yangon Airport jam 22:25. (B/L/D)
02 Mar: Jam 00:25 berangkat ke Jakarta dan tiba jam 07:30 (B/-/-)
Biaya sekitar USD 1.375 + Rp 150.000 Airport Tax Bandara Soekarno Hatta + Rp 250.000 visa Myanmar.
Adapun dana kelebihannya akan didanakan ke Brahma Vihari Meditation Centre yang sedang membangun kuti-kuti dan pagar pembatas. Selain itu juga sedang diadakan retret meditasi disana tgl 1 Feb - 15 Mar.
Untuk diketahui, kita harus mensupport dana untuk banyak bhikkhu/sayalay yang berlatih disana dimana diperlukan USD 1.000/tahun/orang. Sekilas profil dari para gurunya:
Venerable U Ukkansa
Born in 1971 in Kyaikhto, Myanmar, Ashin Ukkansa ordained as a novice
monk (sāmaṇera) at a monastery in Kyaikhto in 1988. He received the
higher ordination as a bhikkhu on 23 October 1990 at Kemāsīvaṃ
Pariyatti School in Kyaikhto, where he studied Buddhist Pāli Studies.
He passed the "Pathama Gyi" examinations in 1998.
From 1998 to 2003, Ashin Ukkansa was a teacher of Pāli language at
Sāsana Lyin Yaung Kyi Pariyatti School, at Pago.
Ashin Ukkansa went to Pa-Auk Forest Monastery in May 2003, and learned
and practised Samatha & Vipassanā meditation under the Abbot, the Most
Venerable Pa-Auk Tawya Sayadaw Bhaddanta Āciṇṇa.
Since December 2006, Ashin Ukkansa has been appointed a
Kammaṭṭhānācariya (Meditation Teacher) at Pa-Auk Forest Monastery,
Mawlamyine.
Ashin Ukkansa has assumed his duties as the Resident Teacher of PAMC
in April 2008, and he has conducted several retreats in Singapore and
taught various Dhamma courses since then.
Venerable U Mahinda
Born in 1971, Venerable hails from China; he is Meditation Teacher
(Kammaṭṭhānācariya) at Pa-Auk Forest Monastery ("Pa-Auk"), Mawlamyine,
Myanmar.
Ordained in July 2002 at Pa-Auk Forest Monastery with the Most
Venerable Pa-Auk Tawya Sayadaw Bhaddanta Āciṇṇa as preceptor, he has
practised Samatha & Vipassanā meditation under the instructions of the
Sayadaw. Commencing May 2004, he assisted the Sayadaw as translator
during interviews and helped in tutoring yogis. In March 2006,
Venerable was authorised by the Sayadaw to teach meditation, and he
has been conducting meditation interviews for monastic and lay yogis
at Pa-Auk since then.
Venerable U Mahinda has conducted many well-received meditation
retreats since July 2007 in Singapore; he has also taught the
Abhidhamma Part 1 to 3, and Visuddhimagga Part 1 to 3 at Pa-Auk
Meditation Centre, Singapore.
In addition to Myanmar and Singapore, Venerable has also given Dhamma
talks and taught meditation retreats in Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan
and China.
Venerable U Mahinda has authored, translated and edited various Dhamma
books in Chinese.

Dr. Mehm Tin Mon adalah seorang Ph.D dibidang Chemistry dari University of Illinois.(USA). Beliau seorang guru Dhamma terkemuka dan Profesor di International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University. enyampaikan ajaran Abhidhamma ini dengan lugas dan penuh makna sehingga mudah dimengerti semua orang.
Dr. Mon berkata, ”Jangan ragu dan semua orang akan dengan cepat mengerti akan ajaran Abhidhamma ini.”
Buddha Abhidhamma merupakan ajaran terkemuka dan psikologi dari ajaran Sang Buddha yang tidak dapat diukur secara science.
Seperti yang Dr. Mon katakan:
“Abhidhamma merupakan pengetahuan yang sangat dalam, lengkap dan ilmiah dari Sang Buddha. Menjelaskan semua ajaran Buddha dengan sangat jelas akan kenyataan mutlak yang ada. Sebenarnya, kita semua dapat mengerti semua ajaran Buddha dengan sangat dalam dan jelas, hanya ketika kita dapat mengerti secara mendalam akan intisari Buddha Abhidhamma. Mengerti secara mendalam akan ajaran Buddha adalah hal yang paling beharga dalam hidup kita.”
Pengetahuan akan Abhidhamma merupakan pengetahuan yang tak ternilai dalam hidup ini.

Profil:
Sayalay Dipankara dilahirkan pada tahun 1964 di Myanmar. Saat usia masih sangat muda, beliau sudah melatih meditasi tanpa bimbingan dari luar. Ketika dewasa, beliau mulai melatih meditasi dengan bimbingan dari beberapa guru besar meditasi.
Ketika kuliah, beliau diperkenalkan oleh seorang profesornya, yang juga merupakan guru besar abhidhamma yang terkenal di Myanmar, kepada Y.M. Pa-Auk Sayadaw untuk mendapat bimbingan langsung meditasi samatha dan vipassana. Beliau berhasil mencapai kemajuan batin dalam waktu yang sangat singkat dibawah bimbingan dari gurunya yang sangat baik kemampuannya tersebut.
Tahun 1990, beliau ditahbiskan sebagai seorang Sayalay di Vihara Pa-Auk Tawya. Sejak itu, beliau dilatih untuk menjadi guru meditasi.
Sayalay Dipankara mempunyai pengalaman dalam mengajarkan setiap dari 40 kamatthana (obyek meditasi) seperti yang tertulis di kitab visuddhi magga seperti anapanasati, Empat Unsur Meditasi, metta, buddhanussati, asubha, marananussati dan 8 Samapatti (Jhana 1 sampai Jhana 8), kasina, dll serta meditasi vipassana.
Tahun 1996, beliau diundang ke Sri Lanka oleh Yang Mulia Mahathera Ariya Dhamma untuk mendampingi gurunya, Y.M. Pa-Auk Sayadaw untuk membimbing para yogi. Sejak itu, beliau sering diundang oleh berbagai pusat buddhis terkenal lainnya di berbagai negara untuk mengajar meditasi dan membimbing retreat meditasi intensif selama 2 bulan. Negara-negara tersebut antara lain Amerika (Insight Meditation Center), Canada, Taiwan (Hong Shih Foundation), Inggris (Amaravati dan Citta Vevekha), Jepang, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand dan lainnya.
Selama tinggal di Inggris, Oxford University dan Manchester University mengundang beliau untuk diskusi Mind Training. Beliau juga diundang untuk The Western Conference mengenai Jhana di Jubilados Foundation/Leigh Brasington, Santa Fe, New Mexico pada tahun 2001. Sejak akhir tahun 2005, beliau mulai membimbing retreat di Brahma Vihari Meditation Centre, Maymyo, Myanmar yang telah berhasil dirikannya dan merupakan cabang dari Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation.

But they cannot probe the nature of the mind and they fail to<br />explain the mental phenomena that have enormous influence on<br />physical phenomena.<br />Lord Buddha, with His power of omniscience, knew the true<br />nature of the mind and correctly described the causal relations that<br />govern mind and matter and thus can explain all psycho-physical<br />phenomena in the world.<br />His ultimate teaching, known as Abhidhamma, describes in<br />detail the natures of the ultimate realities that really exist in nature<br />but are unknown to scientists. His method of verification is superior<br />to scientific methods which depend on instruments. He used His<br />divine-eye to penetrate the coverings that hide the true nature of all<br />things. He made the prophecy in 1952 while I was<br />studying Yamaka and Patthàna Treatises under his guidance. He assigned<br />me and my colleague translator, Professor Thein Nyunt, to<br />translate his writings on Abhidhamma. The task was never fully accomplished<br />as I was occupied with teaching at the Pàli and Abhidhamma<br />Department of the University of Yangon and later transferred to the<br />International Institute of Advanced Buddhistic Studies at Kaba-Aye<br />as Head of Research Department.<br />Thereupon my disappointed old teacher, Bhaddanta Nàrada Mahàthera,<br />with full expectation, prophesied that pretty soon an able<br />scholar will emerge to accomplish the noble task of presenting<br />Abhidhamma in English to the world. So now appears a novel and<br />authentic treatise entitled BUDDHA ABHIDHAMMA—Ultimate Science by<br />Dr. Mehm Tin Mon.<br />Dr. Tin Mon is a man of science for he was trained in the University<br />of Illinois, U.S.A. for his master degree and doctorate degree<br />in chemistry and then he served his country for several years as<br />Professor of Chemistry. He is also a man of arts as he has written<br />several illustrative books on education as well as on Buddhism and<br /><br />5<br />his books are widely read by the public. So his approach to Abhidhamma<br />is very scientific as well as artistic.<br />Dr. Tin Mon has been conducting long courses as well as short<br />intensive courses on Abhidhamma in many towns throughout<br />Myamnar. His Abhidhamma-classes draw the attention of large crowds<br />as his unique ability to compare Abhidhamma with science as well as<br />with western philosophy makes the subject very interesting and<br />stimulating.<br />He emphasized the fact that the teachings of Lord Buddha in<br />Abhidhamma are very scientific and that Abhidhamma goes much<br />deeper than natural sciences encompassing a much wider field. As I<br />was trained at the Harvard Divinity School and Harvard Graduate<br />School of Arts and Sciences three decades ago, and has engaged<br />myself as a research scholar in the field of historical, philosophical<br />and religious sciences for many years, I heartily agree with Dr. Tin<br />Mon in regarding Abhidhamma as the Ultimate Science—the science<br />of the Ultimate Truths.<br />Culture, Philosophy, History and may other common mundane<br />subjects can be studied thoroughly through the media of natural and<br />human sciences. But the divine elements in religious studies can be<br />robed and realized only by means of Divine Science. However the<br />ultimate supramundane things which are beyond divinity can be<br />realized only through the Ultimate Science. So Abhidhamma or<br />Ultimate Science surpasses all other historical, philosophical and<br />religious sciences.<br />Philosophy is a noble science but it cannot be said to excel all<br />other sciences because it does not embrace the whole universality of<br />things in Abhidhamma. Abhidhamma analyses mind and matter in<br />minute detail into ultimate realities and shows the way to eternal<br />peace call Nibbàna. These ultimate realities are unknown to<br />philosophy and all other sciences.<br /><br /><br />6<br />Dr. Tin Mon enlightens the readers extremely well with his<br />BUDDHA ABHIDHAMMA—Ultimate Science. A reader can derive more<br />benefit from this book in one week that from a life-time of pondering<br />the philosophies of others.<br />This treatise is really a new version of the Compendium of Buddhist<br />Philosophy after the design of the well-known book called THE<br />ABHIDHAMMATHA SANGAHA—The Compendium of Buddhist Philosophy<br />written by U Shwe Zan Aung and published by the London Pali Text<br />Society in 1910. Dr. Tin Mon perfected and augmented it still further<br />by the extraordinary quality of his intellect and all the superb<br />patrimony of wisdom which he inherited from his predecessors.<br />As a matter of fact, I have studied the subject in conjunction with<br />the Ultimate Science at the Department of History and Philosophy<br />in Harvard University from the theological point of view. But I am<br />more thoroughly convinced and lucidly enlightened in the conception<br />and meaningfulness of the subject only now after I have read this<br />new book presented by Dr. Tin Mon.<br />It is really a very hard task to write than to read such a profound<br />work like this. Union of Myanmar, on January 13, 1934. His parents were U Yaw In and Daw Sein Tan who were devout Buddhists. They belonged to the Mon race and made... their living by farming. Mehm Tin Mon attended Kamawet Primary School and Mudon State High School where he topped his class every year. He passed the High School Leaving Examination in 1951 with distinctions in Mathematics and General Science. He also passed the Matriculation Examination in the same year from the first division with distinction in Mathematics. He joined the University of Yangon in 1951. In the Intermediate Examination held in 1953, he scored the highest marks in Mathematics and Chemistry, and he was awarded the University Hoe Wah Kain Gold Medal as well as the University Scholarship. In the Bachelor of Science Examination held in 1955, he stood first with distinctions in Physics, Chemistry and Pure Mathematics. Again he was awarded a University gold medal called Esoof Bimiah Gold Medal. In 1956 he passed the B.Sc. Honours Examination in Chemisry with flying colours and a third Universit gold medal called U Shwe Lay Gold Medal was awarded to him. In 1957 he went to the United States of America to study at the University of Illinois on a State Scholarship sponsored by the Government of the Union of Myanmar. Here also he was awarded the University Fellowship for two consecutive years for his outstanding scholastic record. He gained the Master of Science Degree in1958 and the Doctorate Degree in 1960. He also won membership to Phi Lambaa Upsilon Society and Sigma Xi Society. He served his country for more than 36 years from 1956 to 1992 working as Lecturer and Head of Department of Chemistry in several Institutes and finally as Professor of Chemistry in the University of Mawlamyine (Moulmein). He retired from Professorship on December 1, 1992. During his service to the State, he headed the Buddhist Association of the Institute of Medicine (I), the Buddhist Association of the Institute of Education and the Buddhist Association of Mawlamyine University. He also served as Secretary and later as President of the Central Buddhist Association of Universities and Institutes in Yangon from 1983 to 1986. He succeeded in raising funds and building the beautiful two-storeyed Dhammayone (Community Hall for religious purposes) and the sacred Shrine (Pagoda) in the University of Mawlamyine. Dr. Tin Mon also excelled in religious examinations. He stood first in the Abhidhamma Examination (Ordinary Level) in 1981. He also stood first in the Abhidhamma Examination (Honours Level) in 1983. Again in 1984 he stood first in the Visuddhi Magga Examination. These examinations are held annually in Myanmar by the Department of Religious Affairs. Dr. Tin Mon has written over thirty books on education as well as on Buddhism. He travelled throughout Myanmar deliverng lectures on Buddhism and conducting short intensive classes of Abhidhamma. He was awarded the title of Saddhamma Jotakadhaja by the Government of the Union of Myanmar in 1994 for his outstanding contribution to the propagation of Buddhism. Hal ini untuk mengingatkan para bhikkhu akan vinaya-vinaya yang harus dijalaninya.<br /><br />Vihara yang bernuansa hutan tersebut dibuat krn kita belum mempunyai tempat tinggal utk para bhikkhu dan sayalay yang mau berlatih meditasi. Telah sekitar lebih dari 20 bhikkhu dan sayalay yg telah berlatih di Myanmar dan selama ini mempunyai hambatan dalam hal makanan yang banyak berminyak dan cuaca yg sangat panas sekitar bulan 4 sampai bulan 7, sampai 42`C. Selain itu diperlukan biaya yang cukup besar untuk mensupport kehidupan mereka disana.<br /><br />Untuk itu kita buat tempat meditasi untuk mereka di tempat yg tenang, udara yang sejuk sepanjang hari tapi tidak terlalu dingin dan bersebelahan dengan hutan lindung. Selama berlatih disana mereka tidak akan diganggu dengan undangan untuk baca paritta, dll yang akan mengganggu konsentrasi mereka.<br /><br />Adapun tempat ini merupakan cabang dari Pa Auk Meditation Centre dimana nanti ditempatkan guru yang handal sehingga setiap saat jika ada yang ingin bermeditasi dengan serius dalam jangka waktu lama, bisa berlatih disana. Hal ini untuk mengingatkan para bhikkhu akan vinaya-vinaya yang harus dijalaninya.<br /><br />Vihara yang bernuansa hutan tersebut dibuat krn kita belum mempunyai tempat tinggal utk para bhikkhu dan sayalay yang mau berlatih meditasi. Telah sekitar lebih dari 20 bhikkhu dan sayalay yg telah berlatih di Myanmar dan selama ini mempunyai hambatan dalam hal makanan yang banyak berminyak dan cuaca yg sangat panas sekitar bulan 4 sampai bulan 7, sampai 42`C. Selain itu diperlukan biaya yang cukup besar untuk mensupport kehidupan mereka disana.<br /><br />Untuk itu kita buat tempat meditasi untuk mereka di tempat yg tenang, udara yang sejuk sepanjang hari tapi tidak terlalu dingin dan bersebelahan dengan hutan lindung. Selama berlatih disana mereka tidak akan diganggu dengan undangan untuk baca paritta, dll yang akan mengganggu konsentrasi mereka.<br /><br />Adapun tempat ini merupakan cabang dari Pa Auk Meditation Centre dimana nanti ditempatkan guru yang handal sehingga setiap saat jika ada yang ingin bermeditasi dengan serius dalam jangka waktu lama, bisa berlatih disana. Pa Auk Tawya Sayadaw U Ahcinna<br /><br />Bhikkhu Bhaddanta Acinna, yang lebih dikenal sebagai Pa Auk Sayadaw lahir 24 June 1934. Kemudian Beliau tgl 2 May 1944 diupasampada menjadi Samanera pada saat berusia 10 tahun. Kemudian saat belajar Vinaya, Sutta dan Abhidhamma, Beliau juga telah menyelesaikan Bahasa Pali tingkat terakhir, pada saat masih menjadi samanera ini.<br /><br />Beliau diupasampada menjadi bhikkhu tanggal 10 May 1954 dan terus mempelajari Tipitaka hingga dua tahun kemudian, sehingga tahun 1956 mendapat gelar Dhammacariya atau guru Dhamma.<br />Setelah 16 tahun menjalani praktek utamanya sebagai "bhikkhu hutan", tahun 1981 Beliau diminta untuk memimpin Pa Auk Tawya Forest Monastery oleh Sayadaw Aggapanna, yang kemudian meninggal 5 hari setelah beliau datang. Sejak itu Beliau dikenal sebagai Pa Auk Tawya Sayadaw. Selama memimpin Monastery, beliau selalu menyediakan sebagian besar waktunya untuk bermeditasi di kuti bambu sederhana.<br /><br />Sejak 1983 beliau mulai membimbing meditasi dan sejak tahun 1990 banyak orang asing dan masyarakat Myanmar yang mulai datang berlatih meditasi untuk dibimbing oleh YM Pa Auk Sayadaw. <br />Tahun 1997, Pa Auk Sayadaw menerbitkan buku karya terbesarnya, berisi 5 volume yang berjudul "The Practice that Leads to Nibbana". Buku ini menjelaskan seluruh pengajaran secara detil dan didukung dengan kutipan-kutipan dari TIPITAKA– sekarang ini tersedia hanya dalam bahasa Burma dan Sinhalese. . Mengadakan retret-retret meditasi 5 hari, 10 hari, 3 bulan dan 6 bulan<br />di Jakarta dan berbagai daerah, dengan bekerja sama dengan rekan-rekan di<br />daerah.<br />2. Selain itu kami baru berhasil membeli sebidang tanah 5,5 Ha di<br />Ciapus, Bogor yang akan kita jadikan sebagai Forest Meditation Center, Pa<br />Auk Tawya Branch yang akan menjadi tempat berlatih para bhikkhu dan sayalay<br />bermeditasi. Biaya beli tanah dan untuk pembangunan masih tidak mencukupi,<br />tapi kami yakin untuk kebaikan dan tekad yang kuat untuk mengembangkan<br />Buddha Dhamma, maka semua akan ada jalannya. Adapun forest center ini tidak<br />akan hanya dipakai oleh umat Indonesia, tapi oleh umat dari berbagai negara<br />dikarenakan di negara-negara lain, bahkan di Myanmar mereka mengalami<br />ketidak cocokan akan makanan, udara. Seperti sekarang ini telah banyak umat<br />yang berlatih di Indonesia dari USA, Eropa, Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong,<br />Australia, Singapore dllnya.<br />4. Kita jg sedang merencanakan ziarah ke India dengan harga yang murah<br />dan tahun depan untuk para romo pandita kami sedang merencanakan ziarah<br />dengan harga yang sangat murah dengan menginap di vihara-vihara di India.<br />5. <br />Kami bilang bukunya bermutu karena permintaan yang begitu banyak d...imana untuk buku KARMA kita sudah cetak sekitar 8.000 buku dan buku BANGUNLAH sudah 6.500 buku dan itu terus menerus habis.

<br />Untuk itu kita sedang terus mencari dana dan juga terus mencetaknya agar makin banyak umat Buddhis menjadi lebih mengerti akan DHAMMA dan kita mencoba menyebarkannya keseluruh Indonesia.

<br />Untuk informasi, biaya cetak buku KARMA @Rp 25.000/buku dimana sudah termasuk dana untuk Dr. Mehm Tin Mon dan untuk buku BANGUNLAH @Rp 17.000/buku. Pada dasarnya buku tersebut untuk dibagikan gratis, tapi dana kami dan dari para donatur untuk sementara ini belum bisa untuk mencetak buku tersebut secara maksimal. Belum lagi biaya pengiriman bukunya yang bisa sebesar biaya cetak bukunya.
